Terms
⚠ Draft — not reviewed by a lawyer. These terms state the commitments this project already makes in its own compliance standard. They are a starting point for the owner's counsel to review before any money changes hands, not a finished agreement.
1. What is supplied
Analysis of public United States government records: the tariff schedule, Federal Register notices, exclusion request outcomes, product descriptions, tariff classifications, argued grounds where the source still publishes them, and the processes those records were filed under. Every figure supplied carries a citation to the record behind it.
2. What is not supplied, and cannot be
- Not legal advice. Nothing supplied is legal advice, and no attorney–client relationship arises. Exclusion filings, tariff classification and duty treatment are matters for qualified trade counsel and licensed customs brokers.
- Not customs or tariff-classification advice. Classification of your goods is your responsibility and your broker's.
- Not a prediction. Base rates describe decided requests under processes that have closed, and a record of past extensions describes what happened. Neither forecasts any pending or future decision. As of 2026-09-09 no live United States process accepts product-specific exclusion requests.
- Not a guarantee of any result, financial, regulatory or otherwise.
3. Accuracy, and what happens when something is wrong
Figures are computed from archived public sources and cross-checked against independent published aggregates where any exist. Sources can themselves be incomplete or wrong, and a government portal that existed when a record was filed may no longer exist. Where the underlying record is missing, that is stated rather than estimated.
If a figure supplied is wrong, tell us. Corrections are made to the published analysis and to any affected deliverable, and the change is dated.
4. Confidentiality
Client HTS lines, product lists and import footprints are treated as confidential, are not published, and are not used in any public analysis. Only public docket versions of any filing are ever used, and nothing is inferred about material withheld as business-confidential.
5. Conflicts
An importer and a domestic producer opposing its request are adverse parties. One matter, one side. The free public analysis serves everyone identically and is not tailored to any client.
6. Payment
Fixed fees, stated before purchase. Payment is processed by a third-party payment provider on that provider's own systems; this site does not collect, store or transmit payment details. Their terms govern the payment transaction itself.
7. Refunds
⚠ Placeholder — the owner must decide this and counsel should review it. A sensible
default for fixed-fee analytical work: if the delivered work does not match the scope described, the fee is
refunded in full. Suggested wording is in PLACEHOLDERS.md.
8. Limitation of liability
⚠ Placeholder — must be drafted by counsel and sized against the errors-and-omissions cover this project's compliance standard requires before any paid delivery.
9. Governing law
⚠ Placeholder — depends on the owner's jurisdiction of establishment.
10. Licence
⚠ Draft — the owner must confirm this and counsel should review it. The free pages and the aggregate downloads on this site may be quoted, cited and reused with attribution, under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 — citation is what they are for. A paid report is licensed to the organisation that bought it, for its own use and its advisers'. It is not licensed for resale or republication.
